1.The Lion and the Mouse

Once upon a time, a lion was sleeping under a tree. A little mouse was running here and there. By mistake, it ran over the lion’s body. The lion woke up and caught the mouse with his big paw. The mouse was very scared. He said, “Please, mighty lion, do not kill me. I am very small, but I may help you someday.” The lion laughed and said, “How can a small mouse help a big lion?” But the lion was kind, so he let the mouse go.

After some days, the lion was caught in a net set by hunters. The lion tried hard but could not free himself. He roared loudly for help. The little mouse heard the roar and ran to the place. The mouse saw the net and began to cut it with his sharp teeth. After some time, the net was broken. The lion became free. The lion thanked the mouse for his help. The mouse said, “I told you, even a small friend can help a big one.”


Moral: A kindness is never wasted.

2.The Thirsty Crow

It was a hot summer day. A crow was very thirsty. He flew here and there in search of water. After flying for a long time, he felt tired. At last, he saw a pitcher under a tree. The crow flew down to drink water from the pitcher. But there was very little water at the bottom of the pitcher. The crow tried to reach the water with his beak, but he could not.

The crow felt sad but did not give up. He thought for a while and got an idea. He saw some small stones lying nearby. He picked up the stones one by one and dropped them into the pitcher. Slowly, the water came up. The crow was very happy. He drank the water and flew away.


Moral: Where there is a will, there is a way.

3.Union is Strength

Once upon a time, there was an old farmer who had four sons. His sons always fought with each other. They did not work together and never listened to their father. The old farmer was very sad. He thought of a plan to teach his sons a lesson.

One day, the farmer called his sons. He gave them a bundle of sticks tied together. He asked each son to break the bundle. All the sons tried, but no one could break it. Then the farmer untied the bundle and gave each son a single stick. The sons broke the sticks easily.

The father said, “My sons, do you see? When the sticks were tied together, no one could break them. But when they were alone, they broke easily. In the same way, if you stay united, no one can harm you. But if you keep fighting, others will defeat you.”


Moral: Unity is strength.

4.The Honest Woodcutter

Once there was a poor woodcutter. He worked very hard to earn a living. One day, he was cutting wood near a river. By mistake, his axe fell into the river. The river was deep, and he could not take out the axe. He became very sad because it was his only axe.

The woodcutter sat down and began to cry. Suddenly, a goddess appeared. She asked him, “Why are you crying?” The woodcutter told her the whole story. The goddess felt sorry for him. She went into the river and brought out a golden axe. “Is this your axe?” she asked. The woodcutter said, “No, this is not mine.” She then brought out a silver axe. The woodcutter again said, “No, this is not mine.” At last, she brought out his own iron axe. The woodcutter said happily, “Yes, this is my axe.”

The goddess was pleased with his honesty. She gave him all three axes as a reward.


Moral: Honesty is the best policy.

5. The Greedy Dog

Once there was a dog. He was very greedy. One day, he found a piece of meat. He was very happy and wanted to eat it alone. He held the meat in his mouth and started walking towards his home. On the way, he had to cross a bridge over a river.


While crossing the bridge, he looked down into the water. He saw his own reflection in the river but thought it was another dog with a bigger piece of meat. The greedy dog wanted that meat too. He barked loudly to scare the other dog. But as he opened his mouth, his own piece of meat fell into the river. The dog lost his meat and felt very sad. He realized that his greed had made him lose what he already had.


Moral: Greed brings loss.

A few days later, a hunter came to the forest. He saw the dove and aimed his gun at it. The bee saw this and wanted to help the dove. It flew to the hunter and stung his hand. The hunter cried out in pain and dropped his gun. The dove heard the noise and flew away safely.

In this way, the bee and the dove helped each other.


Moral: A good deed always brings a good return.


7.🐇 The Hare and the Tortoise (~200 words)


Once, a hare was very proud of his speed. He always teased a tortoise for being so slow. One day, the tortoise became tired of the hare’s teasing. He said, “Let’s have a race. Then we will see who wins.” The hare laughed but agreed.


The next day, they started the race. The hare ran very fast and soon left the tortoise far behind. After running a long distance, the hare felt tired. He thought, “The tortoise is very slow. I can take a rest.” He lay down under a tree and soon fell asleep.


The tortoise walked slowly but did not stop. He kept moving towards the goal. After some time, he passed the sleeping hare. When the hare woke up, he ran as fast as he could. But the tortoise had already reached the finish line.


Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.


8.🦬 The Four Bulls and the Lion (~200 words)


Four bulls lived in a jungle. They were very good friends. They always stayed together. They ate grass in the same field and drank water from the same river. A lion wanted to kill them, but he was afraid because they were always united.


The lion thought of a plan. He went to each bull and spoke badly about the others. The bulls started doubting one another. Slowly, they became enemies and went in different directions.


Now the lion got his chance. When the bulls were alone, the lion killed them one by one. The bulls understood their mistake, but it was too late.


Moral: Unity is strength.

Once there was an elephant in a town. Every day, the elephant went to the river to drink water. On the way, he stopped at a tailor’s shop. The kind tailor gave him bananas or sweets. The elephant loved visiting the tailor.

One day, the tailor was not in a good mood. When the elephant came, the angry tailor pricked his trunk with a needle. The elephant felt great pain and became very upset. He went quietly to the river and filled his trunk with muddy water.

On his way back, the elephant stopped at the tailor’s shop. He sprayed the muddy water all over the shop. The tailor and his clothes got dirty. The tailor understood his mistake and felt sorry.After that day, the tailor was always kind to the elephant.

Moral: Always be kind to others.

10.🦊 The Hungry Fox (~200 words)


One day, a hungry fox was searching for food. He came to a garden. There he saw a bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine. The grapes looked juicy and tasty. The fox’s mouth watered. He wanted to eat the grapes. The fox jumped to get the grapes. But he could not reach them. He jumped again and again but failed each time. The grapes were too high. The fox was tired but still tried to reach them. At last, he gave up. As he walked away, he said, “These grapes are sour. I do not want them.” The fox tried to hide his failure by making an excuse.

Moral: People often dislike what they cannot get.


11. 🧢 The Cap Seller and the Monkeys (~200 words)


Once there was a cap seller. He walked from village to village selling caps. One hot afternoon, he felt tired and lay down under a big tree to rest. He put his basket of caps beside him and soon fell asleep. Some monkeys lived in the tree. They came down and took the caps from the basket. When the cap seller woke up, he was shocked to see his caps were gone. He looked up and saw the monkeys wearing his caps. The cap seller thought of a plan. He took off his own cap and threw it on the ground. The monkeys copied him and threw their caps down too. The cap se

ller quickly collected his caps and went away happily.


Moral: Use your wisdom in times of trouble.
